I am really sad to do this, but there is a time when you actually have to sell some things. If anyone is interested, I just posted my Beck Spyder for sale on ebay. Hope someone enjoys her as much as I did.

Oh man, I want one with a Subie mill in the absolute worst way. Unfortunately you are a few years too early ... I have four in college so I’m a little ... tapped. :-/

Understood. I have 3 in pre-school plus another older one, hence I am selling my toy.

By the way, the 125hp is more than enough for this little thing. The Subie engine would be suicide.

Fantastic little car. I have had it for about 3 years.

I’m not familiar with the Porsche Other.

Good call. I missed that they had a section for replicas/kit cars. It has been corrected. But it also states this is a replica in the description.

I used to live in corpus, I hated that place.

Beauty. I’m sure it’s hard, but family has to come first. GLWS

Personally, I’d love a Subie powered Beck 904, but I get what you mean. It looks like a lot of fun.

Though, hearing what Viking said might make me reconsider my first engine choice; ‘00-’04 EZ30D H6...

Do you think a 6'3" person could fit in there?

The SOHC/NA only cranks out 165-175hp ... not bad and they can run all day long at a track day without breaking a sweat (which is one of the reasons I really, really want one, haha)

LOL! Yeah, you’d be wise to stay well below 200hp in one of these.

I’m 6' and fine. It will be a little tight for the legs, but your “friend” should be fine. Lots of head room in this car.

Luckily, it’ll be a while before that decision would need to be made, haha!

An EJ22 is around the 140 hp mark, and is a bit more robust in the way of head gaskets, though the newest ones are around ~15 years old.

There are also the EJ20 non-turbo, smaller displacement EJs, and the EL from overseas to consider.

It really depends on the level of power and ease of availability you are looking for; there are plenty of options!

I imagine anything that yields 125hp+ would be super fun in one of these since they are so light. That said, and to Viking03's point, something approaching 200hp is prolly pretty scary for the same reason, haha. I would definitely default to reliable, easy/cheap parts and N/A. I would NOT want much boost kicking in mid-corner ...
